With Halloween just a few days away (HOW CRAZY?!), I thought it would be so fun to share a list of my favorite scary, horror movies! Let me tell ya, I’m a fan of scary movies and I know that some of you may not be. So if you’re one of those who isn’t, just skip on past this post. Haha! Now, with that being said I have to say I have always been a fan. I’m not sure why though and I will say after a movie really scares me I have to watch some cartoons or a Disney movie or I will never sleep!!lol.
We love movie nights, I can remember growing up having them all the time! It’s so much fun to just hang out, run to get all the snacks and just hang out. Do you and your fam enjoy them?
I think this year we are going to have a fun date night, Halloween night & to make it extra fun and cozy we are going to get it all ready!! We are going to buy some orange lights for a “spooky vibe”, light a fall candle (for aesthetics of course), bring all the couches and blankets together for it to be extra cozy for all the movies. I’m going to pick up all of the things, like for an Apple Cider Mimosa or some other Halloween drink, make a fun snack board of all of our favorite things and order some pizza for dinner. SOO much fun!
Alright folks, get your popcorn, snacks and comfy clothes – getting this party started!
Scary Movies
1. Amityville Horror (2005) || I know, I know – there are multiple movies of this and this one is by far my favorite. This one is based off true events and is super creepy. Fun fact – last I checked the real Amityville House was for sale and if that’s not creepy, I’m not sure what is.
2. The Belko Experiment (2016) || Wouldn’t necessarily call this one “scary” but is very interesting. Also, I promise you won’t be able to guess what happens & it keeps you guessing the whole movie.
3. Within (2016) || Recently saw this and it low key really scared me. This is another, could actually happen situations. I think that’s what gets me about it but it’s interested and wasn’t what I expected. A couple silly parts but overall worth the watch.
4. Escape Room (2019) || Let me start by saying, we love doing escape rooms. I’m not sure why but we do – so naturally we had to watch this movie. It’s pretty good and will make you not want to try an escape you (if you haven’t already)lol.
5. Sinister (2012) || A movie that scares me every time to my core. I can’t put my finger on why but I jump every time I watch this. I watch something happy after this one..lol.
6. The Shining || One of the best horror films in my opinion & this is another that I remember the first time I saw it. It is a little slow but is such a good movie all around.
7. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) || Of course this one makes the list, I actually watched this last weekend. Such a good classic movie. I prefer the 2003 version of this movie..
8. 13 Cameras (2016) || I wouldn’t necessarily call this one “scary” but more so creepy. I say this because this stuff actually happens and makes you wonder. There is also a sequel to this called, 14 Cameras.
9. 30 Days of Night (2007) || For me, a classic. I actually remember the first time I watched this with my mom. This was one of our go-to movie night movies. Not usually into this sort of movies but this one is one I could watch over and over.
10. Lights Out (2016) || I’m not going to lie – I had to stay up and watch 2 other movies after this one. It’s super creepy and will make you think you’re seeing things.
BONUS MOVIE: In honor of Halloween you can’t leave off the OG, Halloween (1978). I mean come on Michael Myers is what so many people think of on Halloween. Plus I watch all of them come Halloween time, even though you know what’s coming it’s fun to re-watch them all.
